magnificent macaroni

Sometimes it's the littlest things that make the biggest impact. By little, I mean... well, my almost 4 year old son who carted this home from pre-school yesterday. Of course I'm biased because, well I think just about anything he touches turns to gold... but today it serves many purposes. Proudly posted on my inspo-board, this magnificent macaroni art is the little push that I needed to launch me into an inspired design frenzy. For me, this is the type of eye-candy that fuels raging obsessions with bold color and playful graphics... the corner stone of my design aesthetic. Thank you, Laird - you've made mommy's week!

Lil's Donutery

What could possibly be better than a donut? Answer : a cool donut! Here is the logo design for Lil's Donutery, an artisanal donut shop concept that hired yours truly to brand them from head to toe. Family owned and conceptualized, they specialize in haute flavor combinations using only organic and local ingredients. With varieties ranging from cuban coffee with sweet creme drizzle to brown sugar oatmeal, and meyer lemon marmalade filled they are bound to wow and woo. Let's hope these donuteurs don't take much longer... not sure I can hold out!

Magnificent + Meaty

I absolutely LOVE this Meaty Packaging by Chris Chapman! It's so simply put but absolutely BRILLIANT! The very best part is that it's earth friendly too - totally biodegradable and treated with a starchy substance that stops any disagreeable dampness [aka: meaty moistness] to cramp it's style! Pure genius!

Sky Blue Events

It is with sublime pleasure that I add Sky Blue Events to the ever growing Kelley Lilien Design Portfolio! Jennifer Grove of Sky Blue Events contacted yours truly in pursuit of branding for her new business : Sky Blue Events specializing in soiree styling + event design in Baltimore Maryland. With a Fashion and PR background she wanted something fierce yet dapper to parallel her fresh new company's characteristics. This neat and tidy logo is primped in 'sky blue' blue and trimmed in preppy grass green - the perfect mix of modern and chic. There will be more to share as Kelley Lilien Design continues to turn out more tasty morsels as the Sky Blue Events branding operation continues...

These delightful collages designed by Cristiana Couceiro just drip with buttery goodness! The bold use of color and playful aesthetic come together in this Treasury of visual splendor. Haley Lamb Photography

Our newest morsel to add to the candy bowl, a shiny new logo for : Haley Lamb Photography! Not only was she a delight to work with but our time together was lightning fast - the outcome... a bold yet earthy logo both whimsical and friendly. This family focused photog wanted something fun yet real, something that reflected her personal style as well as her aesthetic. Our final destination : a playful pinwheel and twirling type anchored by her craft. The best part - she's a red head in real life making this logo perfectly suited as such!

LAUNCHED!

It's official -- Kelley Lilien Dot Com is LIVE [www.kelleylilien.com] and I couldn't be happier about it! With two websites, two blogs and two twitter accounts to manage, it looks like I'll have my hands full -- but, when you LOVE what you do sometimes it doesn't even feel like work!

we've arrived!

Well, the business cards at least. These babies are razor sharp - and square too! The front is home to the bold new logo dressed proudly in a fierce shade of yellow. The back is drenched in yellow faux bois with deep inky blue text and just a kiss of spot gloss. The face of www.kelleylilien.com is shaping up quite nicely and with these cards ready at our finger tips, we'll soon be open for business! Stay tuned...

Hello + welcome!

Here is the official blog home of Kelley Lilien Design. It is here where I will occasionally blabber about design projects that I am working on. For now it might just sit pretty as I am wildly working away on the website. In addition to Pink Dot Press, I've had the absolute pleasure of working with some really fabulous people on some really fabulous projects - the end result : www.kelleylilien.com! It's been a dream of mine to showcase my design work as a separate entity. Although Pink Dot Press is my baby and my very first endeavor - my design work is ferociously different and quite deserving of it's own special home. I promise a true shout-from-the-rooftops sort of announcement when the site is officially launched! Till then - stay tuned!
